Another rooster painting. I love roosters and chickens and have a collection of ceramic ones around my kitchen. I guess that is why I also love to paint roosters.

Peaceful Pasture 11x14 Acrylic on Canvas

I painted this scene from my imagination. After visiting the English countryside a few years ago I fell in love with all the sheep grazing throughout the countryside. Maybe it is because here in the southeastern US we don't seem to have too many sheep. I want to paint more landscapes with sheep in the future, so stay tuned.

I painted this in Carole Foret's Creative Spirit class. It is acrylic on a 10"x10" canvas. I was looking down on the shoes, thus explaining the different perspective.

Acrylic or Oil?

"NC Hay Field" oil on linen panel. I am struggling with what medium to paint in. On one hand acrylics are fast, easy and have no odor. But, oils just have a certain "look" that appeal to me.

Welcome to my painting blog! Yes, I realize I should post an actual picture of a painting if I am to have a painting blog, I'm working on that. I have found the best light to photograph a painting is outdoors. It has been stormy and rainy the last few days so I am waiting on the sunshine.

First of all, I want to thank Carole Foret for inspiring, encouraging and instructing me on starting this painting blog! Carole is an inspiration to me and my painting. I took her Creative Spirit workshop over the winter and if anyone reading this is close to Athens, AL this workshop is a must do. Please check out her website at www.caroleforet.com .
